![]() Arts & Culture Be dazzled by the local entertainment of Fluid Movement or the performances of the Creative Alliance at The Patterson, a dynamic center of art for all genres that provides everything from improv to education. For drama buffs, don't miss the Fells Point Corner Theater. Want to try Duckpin Bowling, Baltimore's quirky version of bowling? Then head over to Patterson Bowling Center Duckpin Bowling Lanes, serving the bowling needs of our neighborhood since 1927. For those odds and ends, visit an old-fashioned hardware store, Lombard Hardware. For the latest in literature, snag one of the window seats or outside chairs for lounging and reading at Three Birds Bookstore, a cozy, community-driven used book store that will celebrate its grand opening September 16 with a Butchers Hill-style block party. Feeling artistic? Check out the new Butchers Hill Historical Mural on Chester Street -- it tells the story of the tragic love affair of Elizabeth "Betsy" Patterson (the "Belle of Baltimore") and Jerome Bonaparte (you guessed it, Napoleon's little brother). Napoleon was fiercely opposed to their whirlwind romance; Jerome was torn between loyalty to his brother and love for Betsy. To find out the rest of this story, well, you'll just have to visit the mural! This uniquely local subject matter promises to reflect well the character and history of Butchers Hill, and, like the Patterson Park Pagoda, will undoubtedly be a focal point and become forever entwined in the fabric and character of this neighborhood.
